There are several social events and outing planned during the 2006 POPS World Meet. Anyone who registers will have access to these events. The events are designed to give guests a taste of the American South West, its history and its culture. Here are some of the things that are planned.
Social Events
These events are included in the registration fee for the 2006 POPS World Meet.
Opening Ceremonies
During the opening ceremonies there will be a Native American dance performance. Champion Hoop Dancer Tony Duncan will perform a dance done to celebrate the circle of life. Duncan will create a kaleidoscopic of images representing the earth, plant life and animals. He will use up to 25 colored hoops. The show will be a demonstration of amazing skill and expertise.
There will be finger food, wine and beer to go along with the welcoming celebration.
The Mexican Fiesta
On Friday October 13th there will be a Mexican style fiesta with food, drink and entertainment.
There will be a Mariachi band performing while registered guests enjoy a Mexican food buffet and yummy lime margaritas.
Closing Ceremonies
During the award ceremonies we will have a sit down dinner catered by Johnny Carinos. Carinos is a local favorite. The dinner will be a ?Countryside? Italian style cuisine. After dinner is served awards will be given out and everyone will have the chance to say good buy -- until next time!
Outings
Outings are not included in the registration, and are additional. The planned outings are designed to provide you with a taste of the surrounding area. All the outings are planed around the competition schedule. They will not interfere with any or the events.
